BB Investment Banks are the largest banks that operate in all regions and offer a wide range of financial services, including M&A, equity, debt, sales & trading, research, and wealth management. These banks typically work on large deals, generally, those above $1 billion, though they may also work on smaller deals depending on market conditions.
1. Goldman Sachs
Get Set for GS Spring Insight Programmes are short, two to three day programs for undergraduate students interested in learning about Goldman Sachs and its various business areas. The programs are held in London, Birmingham, Frankfurt, and Paris, and may offer different streams of study depending on the location.
The London program includes streams in revenue (covering investment banking, asset management, global markets, consumer & wealth management, and global investment research), federation (covering compliance, legal, internal audit, risk, operations, finance, human capital management, and corporate & workplace solutions), and engineering.
The Birmingham program includes streams in federation (covering compliance, legal, internal audit, human capital management, and corporate & workplace solutions) and engineering.
The Paris and Frankfurt programs are firmwide and cover all business areas.

2. Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley’s ISG & MSIM Spring Insight program is a short program for undergraduate students interested in exploring the revenue divisions of the firm, including investment banking, global capital markets, sales & trading, equity research, and investment management.
The program aims to provide an interactive introduction to Morgan Stanley’s culture, daily work, and internship opportunities. It is designed for students in the early stages of their university studies.

3. JP Morgan
JP Morgan’s Early Insight program is a four-day program for undergraduate students interested in learning about the firm, how it serves clients, and how its businesses work together. The program is open to students of all majors, but offers four tailored programs based on areas of interest: technology, corporate & general management, and wholesale banking. The wholesale banking program is available to students with or without finance backgrounds.
JP Morgan is seeking diverse candidates with a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and skills to build long-term careers at the firm. The Early Insight program is intended to provide an introduction to the company and its businesses for students who are planning to start their full-time careers in two years.

4. Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse Spring Insight Programme is a four-day event designed for first-year undergraduate students (or second-year students on a four-year course) interested in learning about the investment banking industry. The program provides an in-depth view of the industry and is held in London.

5. Deutsche Bank
Deutsche Bank’s Spring into Banking is a one-week program that provides an overview of the bank and the various divisions within the organization. The program is intended for students interested in learning about opportunities in the banking and finance industry.
During the program, students will receive a cross-divisional introduction to working in the banking industry and will learn about financial markets and how Deutsche Bank operates. They will meet and network with a variety of people, from analysts and associates to senior management, and will have the opportunity to shadow different desks within a division to see the inner workings of the bank. The program also includes speaker sessions, panel discussions, mentoring groups, and interactive activities to help students develop their soft skills, such as networking, presenting, and interviewing. The program typically takes place in the spring, and the exact dates are usually posted in the job description.

6. UBS
UBS Spring Insight program is open to undergraduate students who are considering a summer internship and are interested in gaining business-specific knowledge, professional skills training, and networking opportunities. Students of all degree subjects are welcome to apply, as long as they are on track to achieve a 2:1 in their first undergraduate degree and are in the first year of a three-year course or the second year of a four-year course.
Applications for the spring program open in October and are considered on a rolling basis. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

7. Bank of America
Bank of America’s spring insight program is open to undergraduate students in the first year of a three-year degree program or the second year of a four-year degree program. The program aims to introduce students to the various careers available in an investment bank, including corporate banking, sales & trading, and technology. Participants will have the opportunity to be fast-tracked for a place on the summer internship program the following year.
During the program, students will experience the work and culture of the organization, gain insight into business areas with available internships, have exposure to selected lines of business through work shadowing, develop key knowledge and skills, and have multiple networking opportunities with business representatives. They will also have the chance to develop a network of students from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

8. Citi
Citi’s Spring Insight Week is a program designed to give undergraduate students maximum exposure to the financial industry, the operations function, and Citi’s culture, to help them decide if the company is a good fit for them.
During the program, students will participate in various sessions that are designed to get them involved, engaged, and exposed to Citi colleagues, and will learn practical skills that will be beneficial to them personally, professionally, and academically.
Past sessions have included live banking simulations, taster sessions in operations, professional skill-building sessions, collaborative group projects, networking, and Q&A sessions with Citi colleagues who were once in the students’ position. Successful Spring interns may be considered for the 2024 Operations placement program.

9. Barclays
Barclays’ Discovery program is a two-day insight program that takes place in April. It is an opportunity for students to learn about careers at Barclays, gain a better understanding of the business world, and learn more about themselves.
The program will give students a good overview of the different roles and opportunities available at the bank and is a stepping stone to one of the company’s eight-week internships.

Elite Boutique Investment Banks (EBs)
Elite boutiques are smaller financial firms that focus on M&A advisory and restructuring rather than debt and equity (with a few exceptions) and often work on the same deals as large Investment banks. These firms are present in many regions but tend to be strongest in one specific place. For example, Rothschild is a strong elite boutique in Europe but not as strong in the US.
10. Lazard
Lazard’s three-day Spring Insight Program is an opportunity for undergraduate students to learn about the financial advisory business at the firm, including its history, culture, and people.
The program includes skills workshops led by industry experts and product teams, as well as one-on-one time with an analyst to learn more about the work they do. It is open to students of all degree disciplines and is intended to provide a well-rounded overview of life at Lazard.
Students who do well in the program may have the opportunity to be fast-tracked for consideration for a summer internship with the firm the following year.
To be eligible, students must be in the first year of a three-year degree program or the second year of a four-year degree program, graduating in 2025. Lazard values analytical thinking and a desire to challenge oneself, regardless of the specific degree field.

11. Rothschild
Rothschild & Co’s Global Advisory Spring Insight Programme is offers a program centred around its Global Advisory division that will provide an introduction to its M&A, debt and restructuring, and equity advisory businesses.
The program will include shadowing junior bankers, skills sessions, presentations, and networking opportunities, as well as tours of the company’s historical archives. Strong candidates may also be considered for a fast track assessment process for the following year’s summer internship program. The company is looking for candidates with a strong academic background (on track for at least a 2:1 or equivalent in their university degree) who are motivated to learn and work well in a team.

12. Evercore
Evercore’s spring weeks are designed to give students a firsthand look at what a career at the company could be like.
The program includes skills workshops, group activities centered around a mock M&A transaction, work shadowing, networking, and CV and interview workshops. The program lasts for three days and is offered twice a year.

13. Perella Weinberg Partners
PWP’s Advisory Diversity Prep Program provides training, networking, and skills development opportunities for undergraduate students who identify as women, Black, Asian, minority ethnicity, and/or LGBTQ+ and are graduating between December 2024 and July 2025.
The program includes training sessions, panel discussions with junior bankers and leadership, and presentations by senior leaders on the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion journey. Participants may also be considered for early assessment for PWP’s 2024 Corporate Advisory internships in its European offices.

14. Greenhill
Greenhill’s summer internship program is six weeks long and is designed to give interns a genuine experience of working as an analyst. 15. Gleacher Shacklock
Gleacher Shacklock’s main internship program is a ten-week summer internship starting in June, primarily for penultimate-year undergraduates. Full-time analyst positions may be offered to selected interns in this program to start with the firm the following summer upon graduation.

Middle Market Investment Banks (MMs)
There aren’t very strict definitions of what the middle market represents but usually, Middle Market Investment Banks offer a variety of financial services and operate in a wide range of locations, similar to bulge bracket banks. However, they focus on smaller deals, typically below $1 billion in value. The size of the deals can vary by bank, with some, like Jefferies, working on larger deals than others.
16. Jefferies
Jefferies’ Equity Research Spring Insight program is designed for students who are interested in a career in banking, specifically in research. It includes a structured program, workshops, social events, and mentoring, and is intended to provide industry experience and insight into the company’s core businesses. 17. Houlihan Lokey
Houlihan Lokey’s Spring Insight Week program is a 5-day program for students graduating in 2025 who are interested in a career in investment banking. It includes opportunities to learn about corporate finance (M&A) and financial restructuring, hear from senior business leaders, shadow junior bankers, attend technical and soft skills workshops, present case studies to senior business leaders, and network and attend a social event with a variety of bankers.
The program is open to students of all majors and is designed to give participants exposure to the life they could lead working at a dynamic, diverse, and international company.

18. BNP
BNP’s Spring Insight program will include two separate tracks for students with STEM/Humanities and Economics/Finance backgrounds. The program will take place on different dates depending on the track, and will involve interactive workshops, work shadowing, presentations, case studies, and the opportunity to meet with members of the Global Markets team.
The goal of the program is to give participants an insight into what it’s like to work for a top global investment bank and to learn more about the Global Markets team in the UK. The training provided will be tailored to each student’s educational background in order to ensure that their learning is at an appropriate pace

19. HSBC
HSBC’s Spring Insight Programme is a 4-day program designed to give participants a taste of what it’s like to work in the Global Banking & Markets business at this company. It includes learning about different areas of the business, behavioural skills training, case study sessions, networking events, and the opportunity to see experts at work and meet senior leaders and peers.
The program is intended to help students decide which career path in banking interests them and what area they might like to pursue in the future. It includes hands-on tasks, interactive learning sessions, skills workshops, and work shadowing, and will provide insights into how the company works in different areas and the skills needed to build client relationships and interpret market data.
